Retro-King has released a new model in the Plexi product line that is, like its “brothers”, hand-made. The Retro-King Amps “Plexi 100″ Head Amp has been designed to be a replica of the 60’s Marshall 100w head amp that was widely used by some of the most popular rock stars. The amp is also hand-wired with teflon wire and steel chassis to make it durable, let’s take a look inside.
The Retro-King Amps “Plexi 100″ Head Amp features 2 channels (bright and normal), 3 JJ 12AX7 preamp and 4 matched JJ EL34 power tubes, 1 solid state rectifier, 2-band EQ, volume and presence controls, 4 inputs (high and low per channel) and 2 speaker outputs with resistance switch (4, 8 or 16 ohms).
There are 4 mods available for this to, if possible make it more custom, cathode cap (that increase the midrange gain like in the 70’s), gain stage, negative feedback control and master volume mods. The Retro-King Amps “Plexi 100″ Head Amp is now available and its list price is $1,745.
